OVERVIEW
Radiation Oncology Physicians of Connecticut (ROPC), LLC, is looking for a highly motivated BC/BE Radiation Oncologist to join our dynamic practice in Connecticut. This position will be to staff the Connecticut Proton Therapy Center (CPTC) which is due to open in November 2026.
GROUP DETAILS
Radiation Oncology Physicians of Connecticut (ROPC), LLC is a private practice physician group made up of two long standing Radiation Oncology practices: Hartford Radiation Oncology Associates, PC (HROA) and Central Connecticut Radiation Oncology, PC (CCRO). These groups have served Hartford, Connecticut and the surrounding communities throughout the state for more than 40 years. We see a diverse population of patients with a wide variety of disease entities. We practice at multiple sites throughout Connecticut including: the Helen & Harry Gray Cancer Centers at Hartford Hospital, Hartford, CT and Avon, CT; the Connecticut Children's Medical Center, Hartford, CT; the John A. DeQuattro Cancer Center, Manchester Memorial Hospital, Manchester, CT; the Carol and Ray Neag Cancer Center at UConn John Dempsey Hospital, Farmington, CT; the Hartford Healthcare Cancer Institute at Backus Hospital, Norwich, CT; the Hartford Healthcare Cancer Institute at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital, Torrington, CT; the Hartford Healthcare Cancer Institute at the Midstate Medical Center, Meriden, CT; the Hartford Healthcare Cancer Institute at the Hospital of Central Connecticut, New Britain, CT; and the Middlesex Health Cancer Centers in Middletown, CT and Westbrook, CT. Beginning in November 2026 we will also be providing professional services at the Connecticut Proton Therapy Center (CPTC) with our Radiation Oncology colleagues from Yale Medical Group. This facility is a unique collaboration between Hartford Healthcare and Yale New Haven Medical Center and is presently under construction. Our group is affiliated with the Hartford HealthCare Cancer Institute which is a charter member of the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Alliance.
POSITION DETAILS
We are recruiting a BC/BE Radiation Oncologist to work full time at the Connecticut Proton Therapy Center (CPTC) in Wallingford, CT. Technology at this site will include the ProteusOne proton therapy system, the RayStation treatment planning system and a Phillips Spectral 7500 duel energy CT simulator.
The ideal applicant has excellent interpersonal and professional skills including a broad-based skill set in Radiation Oncology. We are interested in applicants with experience treating patients with proton therapy either during their residency or a subsequent proton therapy fellowship. Post-residency or post-proton therapy fellowship clinical experience is desirable but not required. Interest in leadership, quality improvement, and a culture of safety is also highly desired.
