Description
About the Role
At Turney LG, our work is grounded in three core principles: Creative Analysis. Strategic Execution. Client Focus. These principles guide how we evaluate cases, develop strategy, and advocate for our clients.
We are a growing civil defense firm trusted by sophisticated clients to handle high-exposure, high-stakes litigation, often in challenging venues. While we occasionally manage lower-exposure matters, our primary focus is defending cases that demand thoughtful strategy, disciplined execution, and trial readiness.
We are seeking an experienced civil defense litigator with at least five years of practice who has demonstrated sound judgment, strong litigation skills, and a consistent commitment to client service.
Why Turney LG
- Sophisticated matters: Clients rely on us as trial-tested counsel for significant cases, not volume-driven work.
- Challenging venues, real responsibility: Our attorneys are entrusted with meaningful responsibility on complex matters early and often.
- National reach: While our core practice is in Kansas and Missouri, we are regularly asked to lead defense teams across the country.
- Competitive compensation: Our compensation structure exceeds that of most small-to-mid-sized defense firms in the region and includes substantial performance-based bonuses.
- Sustainable practice: Reasonable billable expectations that allow attorneys to:
- Develop a book of business over time
- Stay engaged in their communities
- Continue refining and expanding their professional skills
- Collaborative culture: We value preparation, accountability, and mutual respect.
Location
Our office is located in Kansas City, but this search is not limited to KC. We are open to discussing location flexibility for the right candidate.
