Overview*We are looking for staff for our 2026 season from May 1 to November 15*
*Option for employee housing (empoyee pays)*
Long established as northern Arizona's finest private residential golf community, Forest Highlands Golf Club provides an incomparable landscape, enveloped by majestic ridge lines and the world's largest stand of Ponderosa Pines. This is a community that knits generations of families together to create an ongoing legacy of treasured moments.
Established in 1988, the Club boasts an active 865 full family memberships playing over 35,000 rounds of golf in our six month golfing season (May 1-November 1,). The membership enjoy two championship golf courses, two newly renovated clubhouses and golf shops, two full swing and short game practice facilities, an 18-hole putting course, men's and women's locker rooms, bag storage, fitness center, tennis courts, hiking and biking trails, sports parks, fishing ponds, and a full food and beverage operation. Our active tournament calendar includes over 50 single, team and multi-day events for both members and guests complimented by an active golf instruction and junior golf program.
Forest Highlands Golf Club initially opened the Canyon course in 1988. The Canyon course has hosted the 1996 USGA Boys Junior Championship, 2006 USGA Mid-Amateur Championship, and the 2009 Canon Cup. The Canyon course is currently ranked by Golf Digest Magazine as the #2 Private Club in Arizona and the 121st ranked course in America. Designed by Tom Weiskopf and Jay Morrish the Canyon course plays to a par 71. The Meadow course opened in 1999 and is currently ranked by Golf Digest Magazine as the #11 Private Club in Arizona. The Meadow course has hosted the 2014 USGA Girls Junior Championship and the 2019 USGA Women's Mid-Amateur Championship. Designed by Tom Weiskopf the golf course plays to a par 72.
Experience Required
Forest Highlands is seeking an enthusiastic individual who will help in every area of the golf operation. Working closely with the Director of Golf and Head Golf Professional, a successful candidate will focus on high quality customer service and attention to detail in order to deliver the best possible experience to our members and guests.
Forest Highlands would prefer candidates to have prior experience working at a High End private facility. Also, a successful candidate will be Class A or actively pursuing PGA membership (minimum level 2 in PGA program)
Essential Responsibilities
General Daily Responsibilities
- Open and close the Golf Shop
- Supervise outside service operation by managing by walking around
- Bag pull
- Cart cleanliness
- Proper range setup
- Staff presence in all stations of the operation
- Manage the operation while welcoming guests at the practice range. Send groups off of the first tee
- Manage pace of play/course enjoyment for groups
- Assist the junior program coordinator and Director of Instruction with weekly junior clinics and Operation 36 classes
Specific Seasonal Responsibilities (each staff member will manage 1 to 2 of each of these)
- Junior Program Leader
- Manage weekly clinics Monday through Thursday
- Work with Director of Instruction on curriculum
- Manage several 3 day junior camps throughout the summer
- Work with Director of Instruction on curriculum
- Manage PGA Junior League team practices and matches
- Work with tournament director to plan and execute junior weekend tournament
- Hard Goods Captain
- Assist Head Professional with receiving, tagging, and pricing all hard goods
- Assist with demo days throughout the summer (15-20 demo days in total)
- Assist in receiving and billing of hard goods special orders
- Perform club fittings with members
- Tournament Assistant
- Assist tournament director with tournament budgets, preparation and execution of all events (40 events annually)
- Mentor 3 month interns with the use of golf genius
- Demo/Rental Club Captain
- Create and manage demo club SKU's for all demo clubs in Golf Genius
- Train staff proper check in/check out procedures
- Perform bi-weekly inventories of both demo and rental clubs
- Outside Service Manager
- Recruit, hire and train all new outside service staff
- Manage beginning of season and mid-season training weekends
- Run bi-weekly staff meetings
- Create schedule for all outside service staff
- Constant on the job training
