Description
OverviewCoordinate all tournaments and group outings at the District's Mountain Golf Course (North Lake Tahoe), including charities, locals and out-of-area groups, and allocate tee sheets and tee times. Act as Manager on Duty providing supervision for Pro Shop, Intern, Course Ambassador and Outside Services staff.
The Mountain Course is the highest elevation course in Nevada and the Tahoe basin. This 18-hole, par 58 public course includes an amazing mountain layout with old growth trees and elevation changes. It has a large practice green, hitting net, golf carts, deck and clubhouse, and a Golf Shop with a picturesque mountain setting and food & beverage offerings. The Course operating season is typically late-May through mid-October.
Located on the beautiful north shore of Lake Tahoe, the Incline Village General Improvement District (IVGID) provides water, sewer, trash and recreation services. IVGID venues include Administration, Golf, Parks & Recreation (to include Tennis/Pickleball & Beach operations), Food & Beverage, and Facilities & Events. The District may employee 500 seasonal, part-time and full-time year-round employees at any given time.
Experience Required
Four years experience in a customer service environment including one year of successfully coordinating and scheduling special events or programs, with a working knowledge of the game of golf and golf course operations; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience as a PGA Professional or as a PGM Intern in golf operations preferred.
Valid Driver's License and to qualify as a PGA Assistant, must be enrolled with PGA of America and successfully complete the PGA playing ability test.
Excellent communication organization and cutomer service skills. Strong computer and POS skills. Function effectively in a highly political environment.
Essential Responsibilities
Oversee daily operations as a working supervisor. Coordinate all aspects of tournaments upon receipt of signed contract (communication, up-selling, pairing and scoring).
Maintain event documentation & updates with client staff and departments.
Greet or ensure groups greeted upon arrival, oversees tournament services and remains visible at Mountain Niner events to announce and score as needed.
Handles check-in for golfers, club members and tournament groups; calling to No. 1 and 10 tees.
Develops tournament procedures and ensures staff are trained on all event-related duties and responsibilities.
Responds to and resolves customer inquiries and complaints; interfaces with customers to promote customer service and satisfaction.
Works with 1st Assistant and Golf Operations Manager to plan and organize seasonal events, and contacts seasonal groups to introduce services, gather event details and maintain documentation.
Develops, updates and distributes event calendar in POS system and coordinates tee prize orders and details with District Merchandiser in a timely manner.
