As the Assistant Golf Professional/Manager, you will play a key role in shaping player experiences, supporting daily operations, and driving our player development programs. Your leadership will be instrumental in enhancing the culture of inclusivity and excellence at our premier golf destination.
Hot Springs Village is home to 9 unique golf courses: seven 18-hole golf courses, one 27-hole golf complex and one prestigious, award-winning private club. Since 1970, Hot Springs Village has been one of the most desirable active-lifestyle communities in the nation. It is home to 11 recreational lakes, nine championship golf courses, 13 tennis courts, 14 pickleball courts, 30 miles of walking trails, more than 200 clubs and organizations and numerous additional activities for all ages.
Spanning 26,000 acres of the Ouachita Mountains, Hot Springs Village is the largest gated community in North America. In addition to year-round recreational offerings, Hot Springs Village offers residents various pre-built and custom-built housing options, from affordable townhomes to waterfront retreats.
Experience Required
- Must be currently working towards attaining PGA Class A Certification or plan to begin the PGA Associate program within 90 days of start date. PGA Class A Member or Associate in good standing preferred.
- Minimum two years as a golf professional preferred.
- Teaching Experience (both private and group instruction).
- Possess fundamental knowledge of the game of golf, rules of golf, golf facility operations, and tournament operations.
- Supervisory skills with the ability to train and motivate others.
- Self-motivated with desire to progress in career path with aspirations to be a Head Golf Professional.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Solid computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Proven leadership.
- Reputation for quality and attention to detail.
Essential Responsibilities
- Assist with daily golf operations, including tee sheet management, pace of play, and guest services.
- Lead player development initiatives such as clinics, lessons, and junior golf programs.
- Provide quality golf instruction including private lessons and assisting with clinics.
- Provide exceptional customer service to members and guests, ensuring a welcoming and inclusive experience.
- Supervise, train, and mentor golf shop staff, outside service teams, and other support roles.
- Perform duties of Golf Shop Attendant along with starter or Player Assistant duties as needed.
- Conducts opening and closing of golf shop according to procedures and responsible for all reports and bank deposits for timeliness and accuracy.
- Help design, organize, and implement all aspects of golf outings and tournament operations including creation of cart signs, scorecards, format sheets, cart staging and scoring.
- Assists members by providing and interpreting golf policies, rules, and regulations.
- Investigate and resolve complaints from patrons.
- Share responsibility for interviewing, hiring, training, and supervising all employees for golf shop, range attendant, Player Assistant, and cart staff.
- Involved in monitoring of the NorthStar POS/Back Office system.
- Performs other appropriate tasks assigned by the Director of Golf.
