This position supports the Head Golf Professional and golf operations team in delivering outstanding customer service while assisting with retail operations, tournament execution, equipment services, and player development.

Essential Responsibilities

A key responsibility of the Assistant Golf Professional is managing the golf shop's inventory and merchandising displays. This includes maintaining accurate inventory levels, organizing and restocking merchandise, creating attractive product displays, and ensuring the golf shop presents a clean, professional, and inviting retail environment. Attention to detail and an understanding of retail trends help maximize sales while maintaining the club's high standards.

The Assistant Golf Professional is also actively involved in tournament operations. Responsibilities include assisting with the planning, setup, and execution of member events, outings, and tournaments. This may include tournament preparation, course setup, scoring operations, leaderboard management, and ensuring participants have a seamless and enjoyable event experience.

In addition, the role includes club repair and equipment services, such as regripping clubs, basic club maintenance, and assisting members with equipment needs. Maintaining the club repair area, ensuring tools and supplies are properly stocked, and providing knowledgeable recommendations are important aspects of this responsibility.

The Assistant Golf Professional also contributes to golf instruction and player development. This includes providing individual and group lessons, assisting with clinics, junior golf programs, and helping golfers of all skill levels improve their game. The ability to communicate effectively, demonstrate techniques, and create a positive learning environment is essential.
