OverviewThe Opportunity:
Valhalla Golf Club is seeking a Year-Round Assistant Golf Professional. As an Assistant Golf Professional, this position will be heavily involved in all aspects of the operation, including instruction, merchandising, tournaments, management, and daily operations. Kyle Cramer leads the golf operation at Valhalla and is heading into his seventh season as Head Golf Professional.

About Valhalla Golf Club:
Located on the east end of Louisville, Kentucky, Valhalla Golf Club is the premier golf club in the commonwealth. Valhalla is steeped in championship history, having hosted the 2008 Ryder Cup, four PGA Championships, two Senior PGA Championships, and the future host of the 2028 Solheim Cup. It is a golf-only facility focused on providing a memorable golf experience that you can only find in Kentucky.
Valhalla is a privately owned facility owned by three local businessmen and longtime members. Its vision is to become one of the premier golf clubs in the country and offer a Championship golf experience unlike any other in the world.

Essential Responsibilities
Responsibilities:
- Assist in carrying out the mission and vision of the club
- Support the Head Golf Professional and Full-Time Assistant Golf Professionals in the daily operation with tasks including:
- Organizing the daily tee sheet
- Communicating with members to create detailed notes for tee times
- Work with the club's caddie master team to ensure they have the proper information to schedule caddies and forecaddies properly
- Create a welcoming and friendly atmosphere for all members and guests
- Maintain a clean and well-organized work environment
- Play with PGA Member-sponsored guest
- Assist in the management and execution of the Summer Junior Golf Program
- Management of a specific merchandise category
- Assist in creating and maintaining organized and appealing merchandise displays
- Assist with the execution of tournament operations using Golf Genius
- Work with the outside operations team to ensure they have the information and tools to be successful in their roles.
Junior Golf Leadership
- Assist in the design, promotion, and execution of a comprehensive Junior Golf schedule, including camps, clinics, and play days.
- Serve as the primary instructor for our junior golf program. An estimated 28-34 individual students.
- Develop a curriculum that balances fundamental skill development with fun and etiquette.
- Create and administer "Play Days" that will focus on getting junior golfers on the course.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for parents, ensuring clear communication and a welcoming environment.
- Train and organize other staff members to help facilitate the Junior Program. Work with the lead assistant to ensure the staff schedule supports the junior program's needs.
- Utilize Golf Genius Coach to organize sign-ups for clinics and to use as a follow-up tools
Club Fitting & Equipment Management
- Act as the lead fitter for the club, utilizing Trackman technology to provide elite-level fitting experiences.
- Manage the Demo and Fitting Day calendar, coordinating with manufacturer reps (Titleist, TaylorMade, Callaway, etc.) to ensure a premium member experience.
- Oversee the maintenance, organization, and rotation of the club's demo bag and fitting components.
- Seek out educational opportunities to grow your skills in club fitting.
General Golf Operations
- Serve as a leader in the golf operation and build relationships with all team members and other departments.
- Assist in tournament operations, including setup, scoring, and day-of-event execution.
- Manage the golf shop, including merchandising, inventory control, and point-of-sale transactions.
- Serve as an ambassador of "Southern Hospitality" and provide the members and guests of Valhalla with the highest levels of service.
