Description
Sentara Mid-Atlantic Cardiothoracic Surgeons is seeking Cardiothoracic Advanced Practice Providers to join our growing inpatient team at Sentara Heart Hospital in Norfolk, VA. APPs will support post-operative cardiothoracic surgery patients across the Cardiothoracic ICU (CTICU) and Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) in a high-acuity, collaborative environment delivering top-tier care.
Position Highlights
- 100% inpatient role caring for post-operative cardiac surgery patients
- CTICU and IMCU coverage with opportunity for independent bedside procedures and full privileges
- Over 2,300 cardiac cases annually (including ECMO, thoracic surgery, and heart transplant; no pediatrics)
- 23-bed CTICU within a 543-bed quaternary, Level I Trauma Center
- Well-established APP team with strong physician collaboration
- Rotating schedules including weekends/nights (shift structures vary by unit)

Requirements
We welcome licensed Physician Assistants, Acute Care Nurse Practitioners, or Nurse Practitioners (non-acute care certified) that are actively practicing inpatient. New graduates who have completed a Critical Care Fellowship, or those with a strong interest/rotation in cardiothoracic critical care will be considered.
