The Department of Psychiatry at the University of Kentucky College of Medicine is seeking a residency-trained, board certified/board eligible Adult Psychiatrist to join our team in Lexington, KY. We employ physicians, psychologists, therapists and other mental health professionals to provide a wide variety of behavioral health and substance use treatment services at multiple locations. Our clinicians provide care at our UK Psychiatric & Behavioral Health Care Clinic at Fountain Court, Albert B. Chandler Hospital, Good Samaritan Hospital, Eastern State Hospital, and various other clinics and departments throughout the UK HealthCare system and other partner organizations throughout Kentucky. We strive to provide the highest level of patient care, innovative educational programs, active research in mental illness and advocacy throughout the state of Kentucky and beyond. Our team of researchers are working to advance the understanding of behavioral health and how behavioral health conditions are managed and treated. Our department has five ACGME-certified residency training programs which focus on training more than 50 physicians each year to become the future leaders in psychiatry.
This position will be instrumental in providing ambulatory and inpatient psychiatric services to adults, as it supports the delivery of comprehensive behavioral health and substance use treatment services across multiple clinical settings within the UK HealthCare system. Primarily, this position will provide ambulatory psychiatric care but additional responsibilities may include inpatient care at Eastern State Hospital, the EMPATH Unit, and the Behavioral Health Unit at Good Samaritan Hospital. This position will also provide backup coverage for consultation-liaison and Emergency Department psychiatric care at Chandler Hospital.

Requirements
-MD/DO degree
-Completion of residency in Psychiatry
-Knowledge of psychiatric practices in a variety of clinical, teaching, and research environments, as well as a demonstrated ability in teaching students at all levels in an academic environment.
-Board eligible/board certified in Child & Adolescent and/or Adult Psychiatry by the American Psychiatric Association
-Current licensure, or eligibility to obtain licensure, to practice medicine in the state of Kentucky.
-Strong clinical skills with a patient-centered approach
-Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
